Ali‘i Animal Keiki Vet Camp: Inspiring the Next Generation of Animal Caregivers
This past Sunday, Ali‘i Animal hosted an unforgettable event — the Ali‘i Animal Keiki Vet Camp, where children from all across the island experienced what it’s like to be a real veterinarian for a day!
Groups of curious and enthusiastic keiki ages 5 to 11 joined us for an immersive, hands-on adventure that went far beyond the average field trip. Guided by our skilled veterinary professionals, campers participated in a variety of learning activities and mock medical procedures designed to spark curiosity and deepen their understanding of animal care.
From performing basic examinations to participating in simulated cystocentesis, incisions, and suturing, the children got a unique opportunity to explore the world of veterinary medicine in a safe, supportive, and educational environment. Every activity was crafted to encourage compassion, responsibility, and respect for our animal ‘ohana.
Parents and staff alike were thrilled to see the excitement and confidence that grew with every new challenge tackled. It was a day filled with laughter, learning, and the proud smiles of our future veterinarians!
