Dr. Whitney Pressler

Dr. Whitney Pressler has been a part of Ali’i Animal Hospital and Resort for four years.  After 20 years as an Emergency doctor she is still enjoying emergency care, urgent care, soft tissue surgery, critical illness stabilization, and cardiology.  Over the last four years she has been able to see patients for their primary care as well as their sick care.  She has loved seeing patients when they are healthy but also trying to be available for our patients when they are unexpectedly sick or injured.

Dr. Pressler’s love and extensive study in Cardiology has allowed her to partner with Hawaii's only board certified cardiologist, Dr. Sotoko Nishimura, providing care for dogs and cats with heart disease from all over the island.  We provide care for patients who have complicated cardiac disease or are preparing for or returning from having advanced heart surgery and procedures.

Dr. Pressler’s undergraduate degree is a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Tufts University and her Graduate degree of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine is from Ross University and North Carolina State University.  Dr. Pressler has a passion for the highest quality of medicine and surgery in all areas.  She not only loves working with her own patients but mentoring newer doctors.   Dr. Pressler has worked in emergency/specialty medicine and surgery, as well as general practice emergency services and mixed animal emergency and primary care.  She has a true love of all animals and generally loves all species.  

Dr. Pressler has two amazing human daughters who continue to challenge and inspire her every day.  She has 2 cats, 4 dogs and Koi fish!!   Dr. Pressler loves all sports but soccer is her absolute favorite.  Recently she fell in love with pickleball and needs more time to practice as the 60 year olds are consistently destroying her on the courts.  Dr. Pressler loves to be out in nature from Mauka to Makai, doing anything with her family, running a mountain, doing yoga outside, hanging with her friends, drinking a local beer, or discussing a great book.  Dr. Pressler loves international travel and returning to see her family on the east coast.   She continues to contribute her great emergency skills, cardiology knowledge, her positive energy, and growth mindset to help all pets at Ali’i Animal live their best life!
